Minsky's PizzaMinsky’s Pizza recently hosted the annual Alex Smith Foundation Holiday Party at our sister restaurant eggtc.!

Alex Smith’s not-for-profit foundation provides Kansas City foster children with the help they need to transition to successful adulthood. Specifically, The Alex Smith Foundation promotes mentoring, education, housing, internships, and advocacy programs for young adults of Kansas City who have aged out of the foster system.

Alex has been busy throughout his entire NFL career helping foster teens with housing, college tuition and just supporting them in general. Because of his hard work, he’s been nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for the second year in a row! This award recognizes an NFL player for his excellence on and off the field. Each team nominates a player that has had a positive impact on the community.

Members of Cornerstones of Care – an organization dedicated to help the children and families of Kansas City achieve health, happiness, confidence, competence and self-sufficiency – joined Alex Smith and his wife, Liz to meet with the teens at 51st & Main for some fun games, Minsky’s pizza, and even opened a few holiday presents together! Not only do these teens get to catch up with others in the program, but Liz and Alex get to talk with the teens about how school is going, their plans are for the next year, and just get to spend some time to celebrate the holidays together.
