Minsky’s Pizza has teamed up with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation for the 2019 season to benefit Operation Breakthrough, a Kansas City charitable organization empowering children and their families living in poverty through advocacy, emergency aid and education.

Minsky’s officially launched a partnership with Travis Kelce on Wednesday, May 22 at Operation Breakthrough, where Kelce took his first look at the Eighty-Seven & Running Robotics Lab built last year thanks to a $45,000 contribution from Kelce and his foundation, Eighty-Seven & Running. The Lab is a part of Operation Breakthrough’s recent $17 million expansion, which also includes an art center and gymnasium.

During the event, Minsky’s provided pizza and Minsky’s Kelce shirts to over 100 children at Operation Breakthrough, and presented a $5,000 check to Kelce’s Foundation to kickstart what all hope to be an historic fundraising partnership.

Said Minsky’s founder and CEO, Gregg Johnson, “We have tremendous respect for Travis and what he’s accomplished with the Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation and could not be more excited to partner with him in these efforts. After one trip through Operation Breakthrough, we were hooked. This organization does an incredible job supporting kids in need and their families with a great range of services. The Robotics Lab that Travis helped build is a perfect addition to the facility and will be critically important to exposing kids to a wide variety of career opportunities at a young age.”

In addition to working with Operation Breakthrough, Minsky’s Pizza is committed to supporting a variety of Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation efforts and special events that Kelce has created over the years, including his Walk the Walk Fashion Show and signature fundraiser, Catching for a Cause.

Minsky’s will also announce a new fundraising effort with big prizes soon, with all proceeds going to the Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation. Stay tuned for more details!
