In the recent November rankings, Minsky’s sister restaurant, Osteria IL Centro, was awarded a 28 out of 30 score for Food in Zagat’s annual reviews. Il Centro, where, “The food and wine are so good, it actually improves the conversation,” has long been a local South Plaza favorite. Now, it seems, the whole city is discovering what was once a “best kept secret.”
According to Zagat:
Diners “adore” this “bellissimo” Italian “jewel” in the “pleasant” South Plaza neighborhood, a “popular date spot” serving “authentic” food that “takes you back to Verona”; since it’s a “great value” and “crowded nearly every night”, fans “wish they took reservations”, but when faced with a “hardy wait” you can pass the time “people-watching” and chumming with the staffers (“who know pretty much everyone”) over a glass from the “interesting” 1,000-bottle wine list.
