20,000+ Kelceronis Sold to Date in 2021! Initial $25,000 Donation to 87 & Running
Since the start of the 2021 NFL season in September, the incredible Kansas City metro and Lawrence, Kansas communities have ordered more than 20,000 Kelceroni Pizzas (23,367 as of 12/20/21, to be exact) from Minsky’s! This amazing milestone comes along with a $25,000 donation from Minsky’s to Travis Kelce’s Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation, which will use the money to benefit Operation Breakthrough and Kelce’s recently debuted Ignition Lab!
The Ultimate Pizza Party!
To celebrate this awesome achievement, Minsky’s hosted a pizza party for the kids and staff at Operation Breakthrough. At the party, Gregg Johnson, Founder and CEO of Minsky’s Pizza, presented the $25,000 check representing the donations to date this year to Operation Breakthrough and Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation. No one was more happy than #87 himself, Travis Kelce, about the support that has been put forth for the kids and this worthy cause:
“It’s such a fun way to get the whole KC community involved in what we are doing here at Eighty-Seven & Running. Every single fan that has ordered a Kelceroni has really been a part of us making a difference for these kids. I can’t thank Minsky’s enough for their support.”
Operation Breakthrough was, of course, incredibly thankful for the support of the community. To be able to continue providing their services, especially during the holiday season, is so important. Their organization gives children a safe, loving, and educational environment while empowering their families through advocacy, emergency aid, and education. Since the introduction of the Kelceroni by Minsky’s in 2019, more than $125,000 has been raised through its sales! Gregg Johnson has been astounded by the results of Minsky’s and Travis Kelce’s collaboration on this project:
“These last couple of years have been tough for the community as a whole, and of course, not-for-profits. To me, it’s amazing how the community has continued to support what Travis and Minsky’s is doing with the Kelceroni – that is, to continue supporting this great cause. This is our third year working with Travis, Eighty-Seven & Running and Operation Breakthrough. In total we’ve now raised over $125,000 in three seasons – and we’re not done yet.”
