Minsky’s has again partnered with KC’s World Champion Linebacker, Drue Tranquill, with the ultimate Gourmet Pizza for the pro football season – The Tranquilo Crunch! Drue created this masterpiece as a tribute to his Italian heritage – and loaded it up with meat (gotta have that protein!). The Tranquilo is packed with all your favorites: Italian sausage, American sausage, capocollo, and ground beef – topped with a generous crown of Wisconsin mozzarella, cupping pepperoni, and a dusting of Romano and oregano. And, to make Drue’s masterpiece extra special, Minsky’s created a one-of-a-kind mouthwatering Italian-seasoned Panko “Crunch” crust!

This local organization has been serving Kansas City families for over 40 years, providing a safe educational environment for children in poverty while also empowering their families.

About Operation Breakthrough:
Operation Breakthrough is a nationally accredited, not-for-profit corporation that was started in 1971 by Sister Corita Bussanmas and Sister Berta Sailer in response to requests from parents in the central city for quality child care for children of the working poor. Operation Breakthrough provides a safe, loving, and educational environment for children in poverty and empowers their families through advocacy, emergency aid, and education.
Last year, thanks to a hungry Chiefs Kingdom, Minsky’s Pizza, a personal donation from the Drue Tranquill family, and an additional contribution from the Hunt Family Foundation, $75,000 was raised from the sale of over 16,000 Tranquilo’s for Operation Breakthrough! In June 2025, Tranquill and Minsky’s Pizza announced plans for “Zone 23” – an outdoor sports activity area at Operation Breakthrough (named as a play on Drue’s jersey number).
Zone 23 is a reimagined outdoor play area for elementary and secondary school children at Operation Breakthrough. Tranquill said he was inspired by Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce (who launched the STEM Lab at Operation Breakthrough along with the Ignition Lab for workforce development training). Tranquill wanted to build a lasting feature at Operation Breakthrough where kids can be physically active while learning the many values of sports in life. Featuring pickleball courts, basketball courts, a giant outdoor chess set, and a host of other outdoor competition and play areas, Zone 23 will be a welcome addition to Operation Breakthrough!

“I’m excited to break ground on Zone 23 and all the future good that it will do in the Kansas City community. Sports are a great teacher. They teach us invaluable lessons in teamwork, leadership, and self-discipline. Furthermore, participation in sports can positively impact our physical and mental health. I’m excited about what this donation can bring to the thousands of kids and parents Operation Breakthrough serves in Kansas City each month.”
