For over 40 years, Minsky’s has delivered Gourmet Pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, salads and more!

With 18 locations throughout the KC metro (plus Lawrence!), there’s likely a Minsky’s nearby that you call your own – and we strive to keep it that that way. We’ve been delivering fresh from our ovens to your door for more than 40 years – after all, we are gourmet and going to stay that way!

Lately it seems there’s always a new 3rd party delivery application service popping up, which seems easy at first, but looks can be deceiving. We’ve put together a short list of the downfalls of using these services instead of Minsky’s:

  1. Fees

Most 3rd party food delivery apps charge a service fee plus a delivery fee. According to Postmates, the service fee is a “variable percentage-based fee applied to the purchase.” Delivery fees range from $0.99–$3.99 for Partner Merchants and $5.99–$9.99 for all other merchants. On a receipt example from earlier in the year, the subtotal with tax was $81.10, the service fee $17.02 and the delivery fee was $5.99. With a 15% tip, the total was $120.11. That’s $23.01 in fees and delivery alone. Minsky’s standard delivery fee is $2.50. That fee only goes up slightly based on distance. Minsky’s does not charge service fees, and there’s no fee to order online and pick up in store.

  2. Support your local Minsky’s – and their drivers

Oftentimes third party deliver services (none of which are located in Kansas City) keep all fees and a portion of tips associated with the delivery. At Minsky’s, when you tip your driver, that tip stays in their pocket, for their family. Plus, your pizzas are kept warm in our pizza-specific, tried and true warming bags. If you want your pizza to still be hot when it arrives, order through Minsky’s direct!

  3. Coupons and Special Offers

If you’re a member of our VIP list, you’ve likely taken advantage of the coupons and offers we send out regularly. Did you know that when you order online, you automatically receive a discount when you purchase any Large Pizza and get a second Large Pizza of equal or lesser value for $13.99 (up to $6 maximum discount.) Plus, you can purchase any Medium Pizza and get a second Medium Pizza of equal or lesser value for $11.99 (up to $5 maximum discount). You can’t take advantage of these deals through a 3rd party service!

  4. Security

Several third-party delivery apps have also been subject to data breaches. In September, 2019, Doordash announced that they were hacked, resulting in 4.9 million users’ data being stolen from the app. For those who use multiple delivery apps, this puts your personal information in danger every time you use the app.

  5. Order at Your Convenience

One more perk of using Minsky’s online ordering site is the ability to place a deferred order. For example, if you want to order pizza for the office for tomorrow’s lunch but it’s after hours, you can do so – just pick your menu and delivery time! If you’re using a 3rd party app, you can’t order until we’re open for business.

  6. Inaccurate Menus

If you’re looking for our newest pizza creation (or other new menu item), you probably won’t be able to find it on a third party app. Most menus on 3rd party apps are a mish-mash from dubious online sources that are not always accurate.

Now that you’ve learned more about the ways that 3rd party delivery doesn’t work for you, it’s time to go to minskys.com, support your local economy and keep more $ in your pocket! Bon appetit, KC!
